THE COUNTDOWN TO THE ‘CAMBERWELL’ AT CAULFIELD IS ON.



Tom O'Callaghan does it again- 2010 'Best of Show'

Winners announced at Art Show Opening Night. Joint Silver and Bronze Winners!

South Australian self taught artist, Tom O'Callaghan has taken out the Gold 'Best of Show' at the 2010 Camberwell Rotary Art Show. This is his second win having also won 'Gold' in 2008. Tom's 'Quary After Rain' painting was praised by chief judge' Kit Wise, Deputy Head of Fine Art and Senior Lecturer in Fine Arts in the Faculty of Art & Design at Monash University. Tom was awarded a cheque for $20,000 by the Herald Sun's General Manager of Marketing & Sales, Andrew Hockly.

The Silver Runner Up Award, sponsored by Penfold Motor Group, was shared by Joseph Zbukvic and his work 'Interlude' and Robert Simpson's, 'White Ascenion.  ' The Bronze' award was shared by Chris Kandis and his work 'Sunset over Jindabyne' and 'Katsuya in his Studio' by Claude Ciccone.

  • Best Landscape less than $2,500 Chris White (Into the Morning Light)
  • Best Pastel less than $2,500 Christine Ramsay (Dusk)
  • Any Medium less than $1,500 Elena Kolotusha (Bag of Treasures)
  • Best Watercolour not exceeding $900 Rena Littleson (Hiding)
  • Best Watercolour not exceeding $800 Loyis Gedye (Japan Black)
  • Best Watercolour not exceeding $600 Hannah Blackie (The Joke)
  • Best Watercolour not exceeding $400 Christine Hogan (Nesting)
  • Encouragement Award (watercolour) Clive Sinclair (Evening)
  • Encouragement Award (Acrylic) George Kendall (Country Girl is in the Garden)
  • Encouragement Award (Pastel) Jan Hudson (Onions & Garlic)
  • Encouragement Award (Oil) Lydia Miller (Still Life-with a Fig)
  • Encouragement Award (Studio Craft Framing Award 1) Kate Collins (Blue Moo)
  • Encouragement Award (Studio Craft Framing Award 2) Otto Boron (Dilapidated Shed)
  • Porcelain Award - Judy Seymour (Gum Blossums)
  • Best Realist Art -A.G.R.A. -Pippa Chapman (Classical Red)

The 44th Herald Sun Camberwell Rotary Art Show at Caulfield Racecourse was opened by Art Show Patron, Harold Mitchell AO. Special guests included the Mayor of Boroondara Cr Jack Wegman, Herald Sun General Manager- Marketing & Sales Andrew Hockley, Thel Cardwell President Australian Guild of Realist Artists, Kerry Williams CEO Deans Art and President of the Rotary Club of Camberwell, Dennis Coleman. Art Show Chairman Graeme Hope hosted the presentations.

Entry $15. Concession $12. Entry includes a copy of the Herald Sun.
