The Hunter Swim Club was established in 1968 and is based at Arnolds Swim Centre at The Junction, Newcastle. It is one of the largest clubs in the Coast and Valley Swimming Association. Arnolds Swim Centre is a major sponsor of the club.
The club encourages swimmers of all abilities to enjoy both the social and competitive aspects of swimming. The club has many talented swimmers and is one of the most successful clubs in NSW in terms of achievements at country, state and national championships. Some of our top swimmers have even competed and medalled at Commonwealth and Olympic level.
The club's objects are:
- To promote, encourage and teach the arts of swimming and life saving.
- To promote swimming for health andd fitness for both able-bodied and swimmers with special needs.
- To promote an environment in which youth develop self esteem and self confidence and a motivation to succeed.
- For our swimmers to develop skills which contribute to the benefit of the wider community and act as positve role models to youth in the Hunter region.
The club's success depends on swimmers, coaches and parents working together.
