Join one of the world's best open water swimmers in triathlon for coaching in triathlon's most technical discipline. Ten-time winner of the swim leg of the London Triathlon and Double World Aquathlon Champion, Richard Stannard can offer you exclusive tuition in the art of open water swimming.
Richard has teamed up with several very experienced triathlete's to bring one-to-one open water swim tuition from his base at OpenWaterSwim.co.uk in Datchet. Richard and the team of outstanding coaches have all been working together in the lake to bring you the best open water tuiton available. Richard has been training and racing in open water for over a decade and has passed his knowledge onto all his team.
Depending on your needs, Richard and the team of coaches can coach you one-to-one or in group sessions(groups MUST be of same ability) covering topics from wetsuit and goggle fit to starts, sighting, turns and transitions. Richard and the team can offer you advice available nowhere else which has been gained through the many hours he trained at his secret lake, hidden away in the English countryside. Sessions start in April when the lake opens in Datchet and go through to the end of September - weather permitting. Prices range from £45 - £100 for one to one lessons. (see below)

Joe is a full time swimmer at Loughborough University training with some of the world's best swimmers and coaches. He has been a National finalist more than a doxen times over the last 3 years and although predominantly pool based, Joe has an excellent track record in open water, competing in all four Great Swims at elite level in 2009 and winning the OWS 3km race at our Datchet venue. ![]() | Jenny Budgett, aka 'The Pink Shark', is a fully qualified swimming teacher who has been competing in triathlon at all levels for 15 years and now specialises in long distance events. Her role at the lake is to take novice or 'reluctant' open water swimmers and help them develop all the basic skills that they need in order to start competing effectively. Most sessions are one-on-one, although she will take small groups of similar abilities, and are all conducted in the water to help you build confidence and familiarity in what can be a scary environment. For those looking to extend their training to include longer distance, perhaps in preparation for an Ironman, Jenny can also work with you to develop an open water training schedule.
