Overview of the SNTI Codes Of Behaviour

Member Welfare and Child Welfare Policies

Swimming Australia has adopted two policies, the Member Welfare and Child Welfare Policies, to tackle inappropriate behaviour. Swimming Northern Territory has formally adopted these two policies.

As a Member Club of Swimming Northern Territory, the Nightcliff Swimming Club and its Members are expected to abide by these policies.

A copy of both policies is available from the Swimming Australia website.

The Member Welfare and Child Welfare Policies assist in ensuring that every person involved in swimming is treated with respect, dignity, is safe and protected from abuse.

They also aim to ensure that everyone involved in swimming is aware of their legal and ethical rights and responsibilities.

Under these policies, any form of bullying, harassment or discrimination is actionable and the policies outline the procedures to be followed under such circumstances.

Behaviour Management Policy

Nightcliff Swimming Club has developed a Behaviour Management Policy which has been formulated to articulate the general behavioural guidelines (Section 1) and the specific Swimmers' behavioural guidelines (Section 2) which are important to the Nightcliff Swimming Club to ensure that swimmers are able to participate in all Club activities in a safe, friendly and harmonious environment.

All Nightcliff Swimming Club Members have the right to participate in Club activities free from behaviour which has been deemed inappropriate and unacceptable by the Club (Section 3) and which will not be tolerated by the Club.

A copy of the Behaviour Management Policy is available in the Club Room or from the Secretary at nightcliffswimmingclub@hotmail.com .
