Overview of Swim Meets
Swimming at swim meets is not compulsory, however it is considered an excellent incentive for swimmers to improve their times and to sample the ‘rush' of doing a personal best (PB) in competition.
All swimmers are encouraged to have a go at participating in a swim meet.
Swim meets are great fun for the swimmers and a good way to get to know other swimmers in a social atmosphere.
Swim Meets are also an opportunity for adults to participate. All swim meets are organised and run by volunteers from the different Clubs. Parents of swimmers, whether Club members or not, are encouraged to volunteer their time and participate as officials.
We can also become qualified in the range of roles it takes to make Swim meets a success, eg Timekeeper, Marshall , Starter, stroke judges etc.
