3 DAYS TO GO
UPDATE

Yes, it's only 3 days to go to the 2010 BananaMan Triathlon.

Weather Forecast

The forecast is looking warm for the rest of the week, so please ensure you remain fully hydrated in the build up to and during the race. To keep an eye on the weather leading up to the race click here. There will be a water station on the run course and at the finish, but please bring a full bottle (or two) for your bike. If you are using energy drink, gels or bars, such as SiS, make sure you have tried them in training prior to race day, otherwise we recommend keeping to water. If you are not feeling well please listen to your body and don't race.

The Swim and Wetsuits

Under ITU and BTF ruling, wetsuits are banned when the water temperature is over 22 degrees to avoid overheating and for various other safety reasons. The current water temperature is 22 degrees which means there is good chance that wetsuits will NOT be allowed on Sunday. The race official will take the temperature 1 hour before your race time and ONLY at that point will determine if wetsuits are optional or banned. To be prepared for both eventualities, we strongly suggest that you have alternative swimwear along with your wetsuit.

Race Information

Please do make sure you take the time to read the detailed race information as it outlines everything you need to know to prepare for race day. It is packed with useful information, including your start times, directions to the venue, course information and so on.

Car Parking

Please follow the marshal's instructions when you arrive. The race course does not affect parking so you can leave at any time. Remember this is a public place so please do not leave valuables on display. You will have at least an 800m walk to the race site, so allow yourself extra time after you have parked your car. Please keep off the bike course and do not cross any roped-off areas.

Registration

Registration will start at 9.00am. Please make sure you arrive in plenty of time to register and rack your bike. Please have your BTF race licence or your £5 ready when you arrive. You will also need to show some form of photo ID at registration. When you arrive please find your race number on the board and remember it so we can process you quickly at registration. Your registration Race Pack envelope will contain your race numbers and sticky labels for your bike and helmet, plus your coloured swim cap. You will also be given a security wrist band which you should show to the transition crew at all times to gain access into transition. Then you have to pick up your timing chip at another desk.

Timing Chip

At registration you will be issued with an electronic timing chip which you wear on your ankle. There will be a Velcro strap holding the chip which fixes around your ankle; please do not lose this chip as you will be charged £35 to replace it.

Food and Facilities

Food will toilets will be available in the event village and boat house in the cafe upstairs. Changing facilities and showers can be found in the boat house. After the race, near the cafe, you will be able to receive a print out of your race time and splits.

Massage

Physio & Therapy UK will be providing dedicated sports massage therapists for pre and post event massages at the BananaMan Triathlon. Massage Options - Single: £10 for 15mins - Double: £20 for 30mins. Please bring cash only.
