ultra-FIT Tri Challenge 23rd May
RACE INFORMATION

Dear Triathlete

Welcome to the ultra-FIT Tri Challenge on SUNDAY 23rd May.

If you have already withdrawn from this event, please disregard this email.

Water Temperature

We are often asked if wetsuits have to be worn at our races. But the wearing of wetsuits in triathlon is governed by British Triathlon rules and is totally dependent on water temperature one hour before the start of the race.

The rule is:
Water temp = less than 14 degrees - wetsuits are COMPULSORY
Water temp = between 14 degrees and 22 degrees - wetsuits are optional (ie you can choose whether to wear one or not)
Water temp = above 22 degrees - wetsuits are BANNED

We do say that wetsuits in fact help with buoyancy and warmth, so we strongly recommend that you wear one if they are optional. We will keep you updated with water temperatures as we get closer to the event.

For more information on wetsuit hire or purchase please visit TriandRun here or phone 0208 500 4841.

Race Information

Detailed race information is now available on the website. This is packed full of useful information, including your start times, directions to the venue, course information and so on. You can check your name on the entry list. Please make sure we have your correct data: the spelling of your name, your gender, your official registered BTF club etc. For any corrections, please email carina@humanrace.co.uk. This list will be updated with your race number and start time a few days before the race.

Your Race Numbers etc

We will not be mailing anything out to you for this event. You will need to come to register on the day to collect your race numbers, timing chip, race memento and so on. Please allow plenty of time before your race starts to park your car, walk to the race site (about a 15min walk from the car park) and register, rack your bike and prepare your kit for the race. We recommend you allow at least an hour before the start of your wave.

Identification

Please bring some form of photo ID with you for registration. Don’t forget your triathlon race licence if you have one. If not, you will be charged £5 at registration for day membership of British Triathlon.

Timing Chip

At registration you will be issued with an electronic timing chip which you wear low down on your ankle. These timing chips are expensive, so please don’t lose it or you will be charged £35 to replace it.

Security Wristband

You will also be given a security wristband at registration which you should show to the transition crew at all times to gain access into transition.

Cycle Helmet

Remember you must have a correctly fitting cycle helmet in order to race. Wear your cycle helmet fastened on your head when you check into transition.

Accommodation

The Copthorne Hotel Slough Windsor still has few rooms available and is a great value four star hotel. There is a special rate for a two-night stay on the Friday and Saturday night so why not make a weekend of it! Contact Leanne.Bennett@millenniumhotels.co.uk and ask for the special triathlon rate.

Food

Plenty of hot food and drink will be available upstairs in the boathouse, along with extra toilets and showers.

Dame Kelly’s vision in setting up her own charity was to make a difference to young people in disadvantaged communities using sports stars as inspirational role models and mentors. Our mission is to inspire young people to find and fulfil their potential in sport or in life through a workforce of elite sports performers. Uniquely, all of the charities’ activities are delivered by world class athletes, most of whom are Olympians, Paralympians, World and Commonwealth Champions. They work directly with young people as role models and mentors, encouraging them to find and believe in their own potential through a series of innovative projects. We're proud to start our partnership with Human Race and hope to see you at one of the events in the year ahead.
